Made from solid copper, the Fluid Transfer Monolithic-XD bullet is “barrier blind”. It easily penetrates barriers such sheet metal, auto glass, and bone while maintaining the ability to effectively transfer energy to the target. The XD creates massive amounts of drag within soft targets and was designed from the ground up to meet the FBI’s specifications for bullet performance and penetration. Rather than using the bullet’s energy to initiate expansion, like a traditional deforming hollow point, the XD’s energy jets fluid radially away from the projectile’s path through “flutes” on the bullet. The massive pressure difference created by the flutes concentrates fluid, as well as bone/tissue fragments, and rapidly accelerates them destroying its surroundings. By using a design that doesn’t rely on expansion, the XD is able to provide more consistent and predictable performance across a wide range of situations.
